A trademark is a sign that distinguishes your goods or services from those of other traders. It can be a name, logo, sound, slogan, or anything else that uniquely identifies your brand. In India, you can file for a trademark registration online through the Indian Trade Marks Registry (TMR) website. Here's how:

1. Go to the TMR website and create an account.

2. Once you're logged in, click on the Apply for Registration.

3. Select the appropriate application form from the list of options. For most trademark applications, you'll need to use Form TM-A.

4. Fill out the form with all the required information, including a description of your goods or services, and upload any supporting documents.

5. Pay the application fee (currently Rs 4,500 for most applications). You can pay online via credit card or debit card, or offline via demand draft or challan.

6. Once your application is filed, you'll receive an application number and date of filing, which you can use to track the status of your application online.
