One Great Day
Saturday 17 June, 11am and 4pm
Palace Exchange and Palace Gardens, Enfield Town
Palace Exchange and Palace Gardens have organised a Summer fete to raise money for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
There will be lots of fun activities around the centres for shoppers to enjoy between 11am and 4pm.
There will be facepainting for youngsters. The intrepid can scale new heights on a climbing wall set up outside Pearsons and there will be a tombola and giant garden games to play too!
Children are encouraged to come in fancy dress for the chance to win a prize. The competition will be held at 2pm outside M&S.
Teams from both shopping centres will be competing against each other on exercise bikes to cycle 250 miles in the fastest time – that’s more than two laps of the M25. They are hoping to raise £500.
The One Great Day initiative is a series of family and community charity events being held in shopping centres around the UK this month to raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, and other locally based children’s charities.
Palace Exchange centre manager, Ian Welland said: “We are absolutely delighted to be a part of One Great Day. Hosting an event like this gives us the chance to give something back to support the wonderful work of Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice and Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity which supports patients and families from across the UK.”
One Great Day was established in 2014 and has so far raised more than £250,000 for 93 different children’s charities along with Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. One Great Day now covers over 46 million square feet of retail space across the United Kingdom, from Folkestone to Aberdeen and nearly everywhere in between.
